The lounge at Casa Duran is spectacular in many ways. Entered directly from the entrance hall via double mahogany and glass doors onto a spacious landing - there are then three wide steps down into the main lounge area. The shape of the room is irregular with various interesting corners and sitting areas.

A wonderful feature is the 10 metre (35 ft.) wide windows that offer a 180º panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The windows have electrically controlled aluminium security shutters an fibreglass vertical blinds.

The fireplace is typically "Andalus" and forms the center piece of the lounge.

The high ceilings have enormous exposed beams which came originally from an old 19th century ship dismantled in Motril early last century.

The double doors to the lounge were architect designed to suit the character of this beautiful property.

Door handles are individually made to enhance the mahogany doors.
